Is Fiabee Online Backup really secure?
Privacy and safety of your data are our passion. Our technology, components and processes are all fully focused on keeping your backup data fully secure.
Your data is only visible through your account. During the entire backup process of copying, storing and retrieving, your data remains fully encrypted. By using SSL as our transmission protocol, your data is actually encrypted twice before leaving your computer to our secure servers.
Our storage servers have been designed to be 36 million times more secure than an computer or external hard drive. The servers we use have passed quality control and reliability tests more rigorous than those used for external large storage hard drives or for your computer hard drive.
What does ‘encrypted’ mean?
Encryption is the process by which information in a file is coded, so that it can only be deciphered using a key created specifically for that individual encryption. Consequently each client has a private, unique key to access their backup files and data. Fiabee uses a type of encrytion called Blowfish, used by banks and the military, recognised as the most secure method of encryption possible.
Why does Fiabee use Blowfish for encryption?
Blowfish is one of the most secure and advanced encryption methods
at present. Bruce Schneier designed it as a replacement for DES or IDEA. It
takes a variable length key from 32 bits to 448 bits.

Does Fiabee Online Backup comply with data protection laws?
Fiabee meets the requirements laid out in the Personal Data Protection Act, (Organic Law 15/1999).
If you are a citizen of a country outside the European Union, your personal information will be treated as laid out in the aforementioned Organic Law.
What happens if I accidentally delete a file from my computer?
The data stored on our servers will be kept for 30 days after they are deleted from your computer. If, during this time, you need to retrieve the file, you can go through the Fiabee Backup drive Recovery Wizard, access your backup data and retrieve the files you need back to your computer. Backup copies of this file will be made in the same way as your other data on your hard drive.
